We have anticipated these unique situations and have staff that will contact you to discuss and understand your specific scenarios and ensure your move to Unity is easy and seamless.

SCHEDULE AND TIMING
Unity is being released beginning in April 2019. Current users of The Conveyancer will gradually begin the transition to Unity starting in Ontario and continuing after throughout Canada.

A new learning tool, the DoProcess University is also available to help users quickly learn how to accomplish tasks in Unity that may differ from The Conveyancer.

In this area, you can upload new documents (including scanned documents), download existing documents, or edit documents directly online without having to download them to the desktop.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Unity is securely hosted on the cloud, which means it’s entirely web-based. Unity does not require any special software to be installed on your computer other than your usual document editing software. Unity works with supported versions of popular web browsers including Internet Explorer (11+) and Chrome (63+). We recommend using the handy Minimum Requirements Checker to make sure your workstation is up to date and meets all minimum requirements for Unity.
You can continue to create documents in your favourite document creation and editing software including Microsoft Word 2010+ or Word Perfect X5+.
At this time, Unity has only been tested to work optimally with Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader.
Currently, Unity has not been extensively tested on Apple devices. However, providing this compatibility is a future priority for DoProcess.
SECURITY, DATA PROTECTION, DATA RETENTION
The security and protection of your firm and customer information is our top priority.
Unity is built on bank-grade technology and features two-factor authentication to ensure maximum security. All data sent to and from Unity is encrypted for secure transmission. Information is hosted on dedicated, DoProcess owned servers and all Unity data resides in Canada. You can learn more about Unity’s top-tier security features here.
All data transmitted to and from Unity’s secure servers is encrypted using bank-grade 256bit SSL encryption. DoProcess complies with all applicable federal and provincial data privacy, data security, confidentiality, consumer protection, advertising, electronic mail, data destruction, and other similar laws, rules, and regulations relating to the privacy and security of personal information.
In the unlikely event of a data breach, DoProcess will work cooperatively with our clients to ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
Unity features two-step verification as an added layer of security for actions like changing your password or using a new computer. There is no rule that you have to use your own cell phone for Two-Step Verification. If you would like, you can use a colleague’s phone. If you forgot your cell phone at home or the person whose cell phone you use isn’t available, your Unity office administrator can provide you with a one-time code. You can learn more about how two-factor verification works in Unity here.
Our current policy regarding retention of new matters, data, and documents will be to keep them as long as you require – nothing will be deleted.
INTEGRATIONS AND FUTURE FEATURES
Yes, the existing PCLaw integration you use currently in The Conveyancer will also be part of Unity.
An Outlook integration will not be available when Unity is initially released. However, DoProcess does plan to develop this integration in the future.
We will provide a mechanism to transfer client records between existing Unity accounts. Matter records however, will only be accessible by logging into the original firm’s Unity account.
Yes, our vision is to consolidate all DoProcess applications into one modern, secure, web-based platform for customers across Canada. We currently do not have final dates for the transition of Fast Company, Estate a Base and Will Builder to Unity. Our focus is to first consolidate all conveyancing products into Unity, then move to the other applications.
Our goal with Unity is to provide a single, holistic view of your customer – this includes all matter types and statements of account. The addition of matter types is scheduled for future Unity releases.
We are exploring new ways to improve integrations with billing and accounting programs for future Unity releases.
There are no specific integrations between current Document Management systems and Unity. There is the ability to download all of the documents from a matter for loading into third party systems.
